What is the Catalist Codex?

The Catalist Codex is a dual-purpose TTRPG bookmark and narrative prompt generator, designed for Gamemasters, Storytellers, and worldbuilders who find inspiration in the written word.

While you are reading a favorite novel, an academic text, or a comic book, use the provided list of  evocative prompts to capture ideas, characters, and settings on the fly.

Why waste time creating elaborate tables or extensive notes? When a moment of improvisation strikes at your table, simply look at your Catalist Codex and see the potential plot hooks you've collected: a Prized Keepsake you read about, a Shattered Oath a character made, or a Peculiar Oddity that was described.

How to Wield the Codex

The list is intentionally crafted to be flexible, serving any genre from High Fantasy to Space Opera. Use the keywords as sparks:

• Old Nemesis: Is it a rival King, or a galactic bounty hunter?
• The Asset: A spy with crucial data, or a mystical ring?
• Haunting Echo: A residual sound on a forgotten site, or a Old Memory?

The Goal: Stop searching through pages of lore. Start weaving the story immediately.
